Colloidal Silver vs. Hepatitis C

The information on this page was compiled from the experiences reported by several hundred users who have used colloidal silver to combat Hepatitis C. Products labeled as "colloidal silver" are not all the same. This information was collected from users of a "true silver colloid" (MesoSilver) whose silver content is mostly (typically 80%) silver nanoparticles.

Colloidal Silver Works for All Genotypes

There are 6 major strains, or genotypes, of hepatitis C. Genotype 1 is the most common type in the United States. Types 1, 2 and 3 are found worldwide; type 4 is found throughout Africa, 5 is common in South Africa, and 6 is common in Asia.

What Causes Hepatitis C Infection?

Hepatitis C is caused by the hepatitis C virus (HCV). This virus enters the body through infected blood (much less commonly through other body fluids) and then multiplies in liver cells.

How Is Hepatitis C Diagnosed?

Hepatitis C is diagnosed with blood tests that look for signs of liver inflammation, antibodies to the hepatitis C virus, and its genetic material (RNA) of the virus that causes hepatitis. Anyone who tests positive for the hepatitis C virus (HCV) RNA is presumed to be contagious. RNA (ribonucleic acid) is a long molecule that determines the inherited features of some types of organism such as viruses. The RNA is made up of smaller parts (nucleic acids) whose order within the RNA is important.

The Importance of Viral Load Count

Experience has shown that different laboratories use procedures that produce differing results when measuring viral load count. Consistency of measurement is vitally important to properly monitor the viral load over the course of using colloidal silver. Viral load readings will become substantially elevated if the person being tested has the flu or a common cold. Therefore, the testing of viral load count for all the tests should be performed by the same laboratory and at a time when the subject is free of flu and common cold viruses.

Determining Viral Load Count

Based on experience collected from hundreds of hepatitis C patients it was found that only one laboratory produced consistently accurate viral load count measurements. The lab that produced accurate, consistent and reliable determination of viral load count is Quest Diagnostics. Quest is the largest such laboratory in the nation and is available throughout every state in the U.S.

No Drug Side Effects from Colloidal Silver

Most prescription medications have a multitude of nasty side effects, including liver damage. A true silver colloid (not ionic silver or silver protein) has no side effects and is non-toxic to the human body. Silver nanoparticles do not accumulate in the blood, organs, or tissues of the body. Within 24 hours of ingestion two thirds of the silver nanoparticles will have been excreted from the body, mostly in the urine. Colloidal silver is taken orally to kill bacterial, fungal, viral and mycoplasma infections in the body. It is totally safe to ingest.

Duration of Silver Use Is Determined By Viral Load Count

Users have reported that their symptoms (pain and fatigue) have typically subsided after 60 to 90 days. By having a blood test and lab work performed at least every 90 days to monitor viral load count, users have reported their viral load count typically returns to normal within nine months. It is recommended that a viral load count be performed shortly before starting to use colloidal silver to establish a base reading. By comparing subsequent readings taken at 90 day intervals the viral load count can be monitored as it returns to normal levels.

Continue using taking the silver for 30 days after the viral load count returns to normal. By this time the liver enzymes will also have returned to normal levels.

Feeling Worse Before Feeling Better?

Some users experience a "healing crisis" also known as a Herxheimer reaction when using colloidal silver.

Simply stated, it is a reaction that occurs when the body is detoxifying and the released toxins either exacerbate the symptoms being treated or create their own symptoms such as headaches, body ache, joint pain, sweating, general malaise, sore throat, nausea and/or flu-like symptoms.

Importance of Sleep

The body needs rest to heal itself. It is vitally important to get 8 to 9 hours sleep every night when fighting Hepatitis C. Those who have reported a slower than normal recovery will almost always report that they do not get the required 8 to 9 hours of sleep every night. The importance of sleep cannot be understated. If you want to get better you must get good nights sleep every night.

Minimum Dosage: one tablespoon taken four times daily on an empty stomach.

Better results are achieved at higher dosages of 2, 3 or 4 tablespoons taken 4 times a day on an empty stomach. Better results means the viral load drops faster over a given period of time.

Maximum Dosage: there is no absolute maximum dosage. A practical upper limit may be 4 to 6 ounces taken 4 times a day.

Taken on an empty stomach means at least 15 -20 minutes before a meal or 2 hours after a meal. It is very important that colloidal silver be taken on an empty stomach for maximum effectiveness. To measure the dosage a cooking type measuring spoon should be used, not a silverware tablespoon.

One dose taken 4 times a day is not the same as two doses taken twice a day or four doses taken all at once. It is important that the doses be spread throughout the day. For example, take one dose; before breakfast, before lunch, before dinner and before bed for best results.

At the minimum dosage of one tablespoon x4, one 500 mL bottle will last about eight days. A four bottle pack will last approximately one month. At a dose of two tablespoons x4, one 500 mL bottle will last about 4 days. Expect to take this dosage for up to 9 to 12 months or until the viral load count returns to normal. At higher doses the viral load will drop faster.

When taking Mesosilver for Hep C you can expect to experience a Herxheimer Reaction for the first 5 to 10 days. For more info on the Herxheimer Reaction, see:
